Fostering an
Inclusive Entrepreneurial Landscape

Welcome

About Rural Nano Entrepreneurship Program (RNEP)

A grassroots initiative of BCT–GIC aimed at promoting livelihood-oriented micro and nano enterprises in rural areas, with a particular focus on women and persons with disabilities above 35 years of age. During the period October 2025 to February 2026, the programme conducted entrepreneur training across Anakapalli and parts of Visakhapatnam districts, positioning itself as a bridge between self-help driven enterprise ideas and structured incubation support.

From Idea to Impact
GIC supports entrepreneurs across the journey — from validating an idea to building a product, entering the market and scaling the enterprise.
Why Rural Entrepreneurship Matters
Rural communities possess inherent knowledge, resources and entrepreneurial potential. However, entrepreneurs often face barriers such as limited access to technology, finance, mentorship, markets and business networks.

Entrepreneurship Without Barriers

Entrepreneurship does not require high levels of formal education. Our programme reports most entrepreneurs have SSC or below as their educational qualification, with a significant proportion having studied between 5th and 9th standard or having no formal education. Despite these educational backgrounds, many participants successfully established and sustained businesses.

The programme has supported 73 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in entrepreneurship, demonstrating our commitment to inclusive livelihood development.
